The chiropractic technique utilized is based on the individual needs of each patient. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Tammy Atkinson has years of training and experience in spinal adjustments.

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Massage Therapy

Whether your pain is the result of traumatic injury, overuse or stress, massage can help to promote relaxation, resolve your pain, increase the healing and recovery of injured tissues, and improve your mobility. Massage therapy is often used to complement chiropractic care. By using both chiropractic and massage together, this will facilitate the natural healing process by keeping the body in proper alignment which will ensure the free flow of nerve impulses and circulation of fluids. Therapeutic massage will increase the effectiveness of chiropractic treatments by relaxing the body in preparation for adjustments. When muscles are relaxed and restored to their optimal length, correct posture and alignment are more easily achieved and sustained.

Pregnancy Care

Studies have found that about half of all expectant mothers develop low-back pain at some point during their pregnancies. This is especially true during the third trimester when the baby's body gains the most weight.
